Mash and Mixing Tanks

for corn and grains and mollases

For our grain and whisky distillers we have developed special stainless steel mashing tanks.

When mashing starchy raw materials, the non-fermentable starch must be thermally gelatinized and split into fermentable sugars (glucose and maltose). This takes place when adding enzymes or malt. For this process, we recommend the MÜLLER mash/mixing tanks with double jacket and agitator. For energy efficiency purposes, it is also recommended to prefill the mash tun with hot cooling water during the distillation process. Then the mashing temperature can be readjusted at any time via the tank double jacket by introducing steam while using the powerful agitator. After successfully converting the starch into fermentable sugars the double jacket is also used for cooling down the material.

The tanks are made of 1.4301 stainless steel and polished inside. Two large hinged lids (on tanks up to 1,000 L) and a mobile substructure make these tanks particularly user-friendly.
